    1. Establishment and development

     

    The China Association of Inventions was established in Beijing in 1985 under the joint initiative of 135 people including party and state leaders, academicians of the Chinese Academy of Sciences and social activists, and approved by the central government. Participating in the joint initiative are Hu Jintao, Ni Zhifu, Zou Jiahua, Wang Zhaoguo, Song Jian, Zhang Jinfu, Wang Daohan and other leading cadres, as well as Qian Xuesen, Huang Jiasi, Jin Shanbao, Wang Daheng, Yan Dongsheng, Zhang Guangdou, Hou Xianglin, Shen Hong, Wu Heng and other academic members at the time, and inventors such as Wang Chonglun. The fundamental starting point for proposing the establishment of the China Association of Inventions is to promote mass invention and creation activities. Comrade Nie Rongzhen pointed out in his congratulatory message to the inaugural meeting of the Association that the establishment of the China Association of Inventions "is another important way to promote the development of scientific and technological work." Comrade Deng Yingchao wrote the name of the association for the invention. Party and state leaders such as Li Xiannian, Yao Yilin, Ulanfu, Fang Yi, Chen Muhua, Wang Renzhong, Hu Qiaomu attended the inaugural meeting of the association, met with the inventors and took photos with everyone. Comrade Fang Yi delivered an important speech at the inaugural meeting. Peng Zhen, Fang Yi, Yan Jici, Zhang Aiping, Song Jian wrote inscriptions for the association. After the establishment of the association, Comrade Nie Rongzhen served as the honorary chairman, Comrade Wu Heng was the chairman (1985-2000), Liu Yandong and Nie Li were the vice-chairmen, and Comrade Ni Zhifu was the chairman of the fourth national council. Comrade Zhu Lilan was appointed as the fifth and sixth chairman of the board, and Wang Xuan, Ni Zhifu, and Nie Li were elected as honorary chairman. On May 16, 2016, the Seventh National Congress of the China Association of Inventions was held in the Great Hall of the People in Beijing. Li Keqiang, member of the Standing Committee of the Political Bureau of the CPC Central Committee and Premier of the State Council, gave important instructions on the convening of the conference and the work of the China Association of Inventions. Academician Pan Yunhe, Director of the Foreign Affairs Committee of the National Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference and former Executive Vice President of the Chinese Academy of Engineering, was elected as Chairman of the Seventh Council of the China Association of Inventions, and Yu Huarong was elected as Executive Vice Chairman and Secretary-General. Ma Yun, Wang Chuanfu, Zou Yuandong, Xu Shilong, Liu Pengzhi, Wang Xijuan, Fang Hanting, Yan Chuliang and other 52 people were elected as vice-chairmen and standing directors. Academician Yuan Longping, the “father of hybrid rice”, was appointed as consultants of China Association of Inventions, and Wang Yongmin, Bao Qifan, and Cao Peisheng were honorary deputy Chairman.

     

    2. Purpose

     

    Carry out the principle of "mass entrepreneurship and innovation", mobilize the enthusiasm of invention, innovation and entrepreneurship in the general public, guide and promote mass invention innovation and entrepreneurship activities, publicize and popularize invention, innovation and entrepreneurship knowledge, discover and support invention, innovation and entrepreneurship talents, and maintain the legality of inventors Rights and interests, promote the transformation and implementation of invention results, play the role of "link" and "bridge" in the close connection between inventors and the government, promote innovation-driven development strategies, and intellectual property rights strategies to continuously enhance the innovation vitality of the entire society , To improve the ability of independent innovation, to build an innovative country, to achieve the two "hundred-year" goals, and to realize the Chinese dream of the great rejuvenation of the Chinese nation. The China Association of Inventions abides by China’s Constitution and laws in all activities , Laws and national policies, and abide by social ethics.

     

    3. Members

     

    The members of the China Association of Inventions are divided into unit members and individual members. Currently, as unit members, there are more than 300 invention associations and related enterprises and institutions established in provinces, municipalities, autonomous regions, and cities under separate state planning, with 4,000 individual members.

     

    4. International Cooperation and Exchange

     

    The China Association of Inventions (CAI) has maintained close contact with international organizations such as the World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO) and the International Federation of Inventors Associations (IFIA), meanwhile CAI is a full member of IFIA. China Association of Inventions also maintains close ties with invention organizations in more than 40 countries including the United States, Germany, France, South Korea, Japan, Malaysia, the Philippines, Hungary, Poland, and Morocco. These international organizations have always been very friendly, and also have given a relatively high evaluation to the China Association of Inventions. At the same time, CAI has frequent exchanges and close relations with invention organizations in Hong Kong, Macao and Taiwan.
