On April 9, 2025, the five-day 50th Geneva International Exhibition of Inventions opened at the Palexpo exhibition hall on the western shore of Lake Leman in Geneva, Switzerland.
Mr. Yu Huarong, Secretary of the Party Committee of China Association of Inventions, led the Chinese delegation to organize 228 invention projects with more than 170 people and 212 booths, which is the largest scale of the Chinese delegation in the past years.
In the afternoon of April 9, Mr. Yu, together with Mr. Mao Jun, Chief Curator, Chargé d'affaires of the Embassy of the People's Republic of China in Switzerland, and Mr. Zhang Wanning, Counselor of the Permanent Mission of the People's Republic of China in Geneva attended the opening ceremony of the exhibition, and visited the members of the Chinese delegation at the Chinese Pavilion to see the inventions and innovations on display.
Mr. Mao Jun said in his speech that the Chinese delegation has been actively participating in the Geneva International Invention Exhibition for a long time, and this year's exhibits have reached a new high in terms of quantity and quality. China will continue to work with other countries, including Switzerland, to create an open, fair, just and non-discriminatory environment for scientific and technological development.

At noon on April 9, Mr. Kernicke, General Manager of the organizer of the Nuremberg International Exhibition of Inventions (NIEA) in Germany, and Mr. Wang Han'an, representative of the Chinese side, made a special trip from Germany to Geneva to pay a visit to the Chinese delegation to have a discussion and exchange ideas with Secretary Yu Huarong and invite the Chinese delegation to continue to organize a delegation to participate in the Nuremberg International Exhibition of Inventions (NIEA). Secretary Yu also invited the German side to organize a delegation to participate in the Guangzhou International Invention Exhibition in August. Both sides had frank and friendly talks and reached a consensus, and both sides hoped for a better cooperation in good faith.

Mr. David, Chairman of the Jury of the Geneva Exhibition, came to the China Exhibition Hall and exchanged views with Mr. Yu Huarong, head of the exhibition, and Mr. Liu Zhenying, head of the group, hoping to deepen the cooperation, and hoping that the Chinese Delegation would organize more high-quality projects to participate in the exhibition.
During the exhibition, Mr. Yu Hua Rongshu and Mr. Ali, President of the International Federation of Inventors' Associations (IFIA), exchanged ideas and thanked for the many years of friendly cooperation with IFIA and the strong support for China Association of Inventions, Mr. Yu emphasized the need to adhere to the one-China principle in all exhibition activities, and Mr. Ali expressed his approval and support.
In the afternoon of April 10, Secretary Yu Huarong had a friendly talk with President Ali. The two sides recalled their past contacts, friendship and cooperation, had a good talk, and reached a full consensus on IFIA organizing a delegation to support participation in the Guangzhou International Invention Exhibition, setting up a special award, organizing a delegation to participate in the Silicon Valley Exhibition in the U.S.A., and adhering to the one-China principle in dealing with Taiwan-related exhibitors, and other matters. Ali said he would come to Guangzhou to participate in the exhibition and organize more countries to exhibit in China.
Secretary Yu and Vice President Yan Jun visited the pavilions of various countries, understood the situation of the exhibition organized by the countries concerned, and exchanged views with the international inventors.
On April 12, Secretary Yu had a discussion and exchange with Zhang Jiaju, Chairman of China Taiwan Invention Association.
Secretary Yu talked about the delegation of China Association of Inventions, including representatives from Hong Kong, Macao Special Administrative Region and Taiwan Province, we are all family, blood and culture are intertwined, there are many similarities, and we are all one big family, organizing together to exhibit in Geneva and achieve good results together.

The exhibits of the Chinese delegation showed new trends and characteristics, and the inventions were mainly concentrated in the fields of machinery, metallurgy, medicine, environmental protection, renewable energy, electronics, construction and transportation, etc., among which the exhibits in the categories of medicine, environmental protection and renewable energy increased significantly.
Yu Huarong said that China's invention and innovation, science and technology innovation and intelligent products from here to the world, showing the strength of “China's smart manufacturing”. China is willing to explore the frontier of technology with Switzerland and other partners around the world, organize more high-quality projects to participate in international exhibitions, and cooperate with friends from all over the world for win-win development.
On April 13, the “China AI Intelligent Products Experience and Roadshow”, organized by the Chinese Embassy in Switzerland and hosted by China Association of Inventions, celebrated the 75th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between China and Switzerland and the 50th anniversary of the Geneva Exhibition with a complete success.
Mr. Yu Huarong, Secretary of the Swiss Embassy in Beijing, delivered a speech for the special event, saying that China's inventions and innovations, scientific and technological innovations, and intelligent products are going to the world from here, demonstrating the strength of “China's Intelligent Manufacturing”. China is willing to explore the frontiers of technology with partners from Switzerland and other countries around the world.
China's AI robots in the spotlight
China's Artificial Intelligence Products Exhibition showcased a wide range of projects, from sustainable soundproof panels made by elementary school students using recycled school uniforms, to indoor healthy air control systems and adaptive information physics polar suits designed by university students, intelligent operation and inspection systems for substations in the air and on the ground, and robots and robotic dogs from Hangzhou Yushu Science and Technology Co.
Mr. Yu Huarong presented awards to the representatives of Thailand and Saudi Arabia.
The exhibition closed on April 13th, and the Chinese delegation won a total of 77 gold awards (including 24 jury special commendation gold awards), 96 silver awards and 55 bronze awards, which is another good achievement.
Founded in 1973, the Geneva International Exhibition of Inventions is jointly organized by the Swiss Federal Government, the Cantonal Government of Geneva, the Municipality of Geneva and the World Intellectual Property Organization. The exhibition is held in April every year, and more than 1,000 inventions from more than 50 countries are exhibited every year. The scale of participation of the Chinese delegation tops the list of all delegations.
